XYZ AI is a stealth-mode venture-stage 3D generative AI company. The company uses its text to image AI generator to create 3D imagery, a novel differentiator within the gaming sphere.
XYZ AI was searching for graphics processing units (GPUs) to generate 3D assets at an exceptionally high quality and scale – starting from 70 GPU instances up to 140 GPUs – and they needed a reliable and responsive high-performance computing vendor to partner with. 3D assets are large matrices that have an additional dimension of data and metadata required that 2D assets do not.
Given high demands of the generative AI technology, exceptionally high performance computing capabilities are needed to support XYZ AI.
Generative AI uses the inner workings of the human brain, called neural networks, to base its machine learning processes. It uses advanced algorithms to create original and realistic content, such as text to images, music, videos, and more. It has gained significant traction in the last year thanks to the mainstream breakthroughs of generative AI technologies like ChatGPT, which creates text, or DALL-E 2, which creates images based on prompts.
While this technology is still in its infancy, it has applications in a number of industries. In the gaming sphere, generative AI can deliver seamless multiplayer experiences by using deep learning architectures to understand underlying data to create exceptional 3D graphics, compelling non-player characters, and ever-evolving in-game content.
After evaluating serval providers, XYZ AI selected Hut 8 to support their Generative AI text to image model. Leveraging Hut 8’s high performance compute, backed by Nvida GPUs and composable infrastructure, XYZ AI provisioned virtual servers with custom resource clusters to optimize their model, enabling XYZ AI to scale model training and successfully move to production. Through this work, XYZ AI was able to train their machine learning model all the way through production.
With the high performance infrastructure and support of Hut 8, XYZ AI leveraged the scalable computing power that generative AI requires to successfully train their AI model and create high-quality 3D assets that will allow the gaming company to create innovative virtual games that will captivate gamers worldwide.
